1. Information we collect

When you shop with Usoya we receive a small set of personal data that lets us process and deliver your order. This typically includes the name and shipping address you provide at checkout, your email and (optionally) phone number, and the technical details of the device and browser you use to visit our site, such as IP address and approximate location. We do not store full payment card numbers — those are handled by our payment provider.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used to fulfil your order, send you order updates, respond to support requests, prevent fraudulent transactions, comply with legal obligations, and — only if you opt in — share marketing news and offers about products you may like.

3. Consent and how to withdraw it

By placing an order with us you consent to the limited processing required to ship and bill that order. For anything else (newsletters, behavioural advertising, cookies beyond strictly necessary), we ask separately and you are free to refuse.

You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@usoya.com. If you change your mind we will stop processing your data for the relevant purpose.

4. When we share your data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the parties that help us actually run the store: our e-commerce platform Shopify, payment processors, our logistics partners (so they can deliver your parcel), and analytics tools that show us aggregate site activity. Where American or international law requires it, we may also disclose information to a competent authority.

5. Shopify and payments

Usoya runs on Shopify. Your data is stored on Shopify's secure infrastructure. Card data is handled inside payment gateways that are PCI-DSS compliant — meaning your card details are encrypted in transit and never reach our own systems.

6. International transfers

Our company is based in the Netherlands, so some of your data may be processed in the European Economic Area or in countries that our service providers operate in (for example the United States or United States, where Shopify and shipping carriers are located). Where data leaves the EEA we rely on the safeguards required by the EU GDPR, including standard contractual clauses.

7. Security

All traffic between you and our store is protected with TLS encryption. We follow industry-standard practices to keep your personal data safe, but no online system is ever 100% secure — if you spot something wrong, please tell us straight away.

8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to make the store function (keeping items in your cart, remembering your session) and to understand how visitors find us. The first time you visit we ask which cookies are okay; you can change that choice anytime in your browser settings.

Examples of cookies we use:

  • keeps your login session active during your visit.
  • remembers what you have added to your cart for up to two weeks.
  • Shopify-managed cookies for site analytics and basic functionality.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal retention duties we may have.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your data.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data so you can take it elsewhere.

10. Children

Our store is intended for adults. By using Usoya you confirm you are at least the age of majority where you live, or that a parent or guardian has agreed on your behalf.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page tells you when. Material changes will be highlighted on the website before they take effect.
